Our hearts go out to all of our neighbors in Louisiana who were hit by devastating flooding, now known as the worst natural disaster to hit the U.S. since superstorm Sandy. We have been in contact with our colleagues at the Baton Rouge Area Foundation to find out how to best help.

Below are some suggestions they recommended, from the philanthropic institutions that know these communities and can deploy resources, to organizations providing more immediate, crisis assistance and those instrumental to providing support for rebuilding and long-term aid.

Philanthropic Organizations:
Baton Rouge Area Foundation
Community Foundation of Acadiana
United Way of Southeast Louisiana
Greater New Orleans Foundation
Northshore Community Foundation

Direct Service Organizations:
Salvation Army Baton Rouge-Louisiana Corps
Catholic Charities Baton Rouge
St. Bernard Project (SBP)
Habitat for Humanity of Greater Baton Rouge
Rebuilding Together-Baton Rouge

We mourn with you all affected by this crisis, but remain hopeful that together we can overcome this time of adversity.
