Becky Blalock

Becky Blalock is retired from Southern Company where she most recently served as senior vice president and chief information officer. Under her leadership, Southern Company was selected for five consecutive years as one of Computerworld Magazines100 Best Places to Work in IT in America.

Prior to joining Southern Company, Blalock served as vice president of Georgia Power's community and economic development organization. She has also worked in many cross functional roles including customer service, accounting and external affairs. Blalock is presently serving on the boards of Emory Healthcare, the Georgia Life Sciences University, Mercer University's Board of Visitors for the Eugene W. Stetson School of Business and Economics, CYF, and CSI Laboratories. She has also served as Chair of Leadership Atlanta in addition to chairing many successful fundraising events for numerous organizations including Techbridge, Fernbank Museum, the YWCA, and the United Way.

Blalock has received many honors for her leadership. In 2010, she was recognized with the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Georgia CIO Leadership Association and the Legacy Award from Women in Technology. Additional honors received include the 2009 CIO of the Year in the Utility Industry by Energy Central Magazine, one of the Premier 100 CIO's in America by Computerworld Magazine, and one of Atlanta Business Chronicle’s 100 Most Influential Atlantans.

Blalock’s efforts on behalf of women have been recognized by the Girl Scouts, YWCA and the Atlanta Women's Foundation.
