LATASHA SUTHERLAND serves as executive assistant to the president for The Community Foundation for Greater Atlanta. In this position, Latasha is responsible for providing full administrative support to the president, supporting assignments associated with the Board of Directors, and office-wide administration.

Latasha  brings more than 15 years of experience in the philanthropic sector to The Community Foundation. She began her career at the Ford Foundation as a summer intern, while working on her undergraduate degree. After successful completion of two internship experiences, she went on to work at the Edward Hazen Foundation also in New York. In 1998, she returned to the Ford Foundation as a full time staff member working in the foundation’s Program Related Investment Unit.

In 2004, Latasha and her family relocated to the Atlanta area, where she worked at a small nonprofit organization, which provides mentoring and support to children of incarcerated parents. She comes most recently from the Southern Partners Fund, a community-based, public foundation.

Latasha lives in Lithonia, Ga., with her three daughters Mya, Monet and Malia. She enjoys spending time with her family, cooking and traveling. Her future plans include pursuing a master’s degree in nonprofit management.

Last year’s financial contributions were a record $139 million and 2010 was our third highest year in grants made totaling $99 million. This year’s annual report shares the difference these investments have made…the needs met…and the lives changed.
