TENE' TRAYLOR serves as senior program officer for The Community Foundation for Greater Atlanta. She joined the team in August of 2006. In her role, she oversees The Neighborhood Fund, Atlanta AIDS Fund and works directly with Philanthropic Services to match donor interests to community needs. This work links Tené with nonprofit organizations and critical issues facing the region. Through her role with the Neighborhood Fund, a community leadership initiative that provides small grants, leadership development and coaching directly to residents for community-building work, Tené serves as the Foundation’s liaison for neighborhood transformation and community development.

Tené’s experience includes community building, youth development, community economic development, program management and fundraising. Prior to her role at The Community Foundation, Tené worked for United Way of Metropolitan Atlanta for more than five years in its major gifts and community impact departments. In addition, she secured multi-million dollar philanthropic support from major family and corporate foundations, led volunteer grantmaking teams and launched the state’s first Youth Individual Development Account Program (YIDA) for low-to-moderate income youth.

The skills and knowledge gained at United Way provided her with the capacity to transition into a grants management role for the Zeist Foundation, Inc. While at Zeist, she was able to learn the inner-workings of a family foundation while creating a grants allocation structure and strategy to support the direction of its trustees.

Tené is an Atlanta native who grew up outside of the city in Henry County. She graduated from Georgia State University with a B.A. in political science. Tené is an Atlanta Falcons Community Quarterback Award Selection Committee Member, Southeastern Council on Foundation’s Hull Fellow and Annie E. Casey Foundation Atlanta Leaders for Results Fellow. She is currently pursuing her graduate degree in Public Administration and Policy concentrating in nonprofit administration and policy at the University of Georgia.
