TYRONDA MINTER serves as Director of Regional Impact for The Community Foundation. In this role, she oversees assigned short-term community initiatives helping to increase philanthropy in the Foundation’s 23-county service area. Additionally, she directs the Foundation’s knowledge management efforts, which includes research, evaluation and communication aimed at documenting results and identifying and disseminating knowledge. She also serves on the Community Partnerships Management Team representing the Foundation at external meetings, activities and events.
Tyronda joined The Community Foundation in 2004 to direct MAYOI, the Metropolitan Atlanta Youth Opportunities Initiative. MAYOI is a local pilot of Jim Casey Youth Opportunities Initiative, a national effort to help foster youth successfully transition to adulthood. Through her leadership, several of the pilot strategies have been taken to scale across Georgia and supported by private, public and community-based nonprofits to serve more than 4,000 current and former foster youth, ages 14-24.
Most recently, Tyronda served as Community Initiatives Program Manager. In this role, she utilized organizational, fiscal, analytical and evaluative skills to develop and effectively implement strategic initiatives with a budget of more than $2 million dollars. This included administering a nonprofit environmental grantmaking initiative awarding $800,000 in grants and $80,000 in services for building annually to help nonprofits green their buildings assessments.
Tyronda’s work with The Community Foundation has been honored by the Georgia Secretary of State, Black Administrators in Child Welfare, Turner Broadcasting System, Youth Service America and Catalyst for CARE, Inc. In September 2008, Tyronda completed the prestigious, 18-month Annie E. Casey Children and Family Fellowship. Tyronda holds a master’s in public administration and bachelor’s in French. Before joining The Community Foundation, she spent more than a decade directing and managing numerous Housing and Urban Development (HUD) programs and grants and is a former United States Peace Corps.
