Welcome Steve Forsyth

Steve Forsyth
Chair, Fayette Fund Advisory Board

The Fayette Fund Advisory Board of The Community Foundation for Greater Atlanta has new leadership. Steve Forsyth of Peachtree City was elected Board Chair in January of this year. He succeeds local attorney Mike Hofrichter, who will remain on the board. Forsyth is director of Corporate Communications for Global Aviation Holdings, Inc. Global and its subsidiary, World Airways, contribute annually to the Fayette Fund through the Friday Blue Jean Fund, a program where employees donate money to wear jeans to work

Forsyth and his wife, Bridget, have been residents of Fayette County for 16 years. He serves on the executive board of the Flint River Council–Boy Scouts of America and is a committee member for the American Cancer Society’s annual Cattle Barons’ Ball in Fayette County. Professionally, he is an accredited member of the Public Relations Society of America and the Council of Communications Management.

For Forsyth and his family, Fayette County’s recreational, educational and business assets made Fayette a great choice for relocation from Wisconsin 16 years ago.  With a background in corporate philanthropy at two Fortune 500 Companies, Forsyth enjoys learning about nonprofits’ work in local areas and meeting the leaders shaping and strengthening the community.

In 2010, according to Forsyth, the Fayette Fund Advisory Board will “focus on community engagement, bringing together the various corporate, government and nonprofit organizations to provide innovative leadership on community issues.” He also hopes to foster additional corporate involvement with the Fayette Fund. “With programs such the Blue Jean Fund, our grantmaking can grow and have an even greater impact on our community,” says Forsyth.

Foundation measures metro Atlanta's philanthropy

At The Community Foundation, we are committed to promoting and supporting philanthropy in the metro Atlanta region.

In 2010 we commissioned an in-depth study to track the investment and engagement of residents in our 23-county region in four key areas: Community Involvement, Philanthropic Giving, Volunteerism, and Public Policy Involvement.

It is our intent to conduct this study every three years to see changes in how Atlantans are connected and engaged around in the four key areas.
