An Extra Wish

While our focus is on investing in the long-term success of a nonprofit, we know that sometimes organizations also need help with smaller items that don't fit a traditional funding stream. In addition, many of our donors are looking for a variety of ways to support and learn about nonprofits in the region. An Extra Wish is a program that matches the "wishes" of nonprofit organizations with donors interested in making a contribution.

An Extra Wish provides monetary and in-kind contributions of tangible goods, not services or staff, that contribute in a clear way to the success of organizations and the people served. Whether it’s a new phone system, a copier, MARTA Breeze cards or gift cards, these gifts make a big difference.

2012 Grantmaking
In the past An Extra Wish has generally been attached to our Common Good Funds application and grant cycle. But now An Extra Wish has its own separate grant cycle and application. There are two An Extra Wish cycles for 2012.

  • Spring edition: Friday, February 3, 5 pm
  • Fall edition: Monday, July 2, 5 pm

A Wish Granted - The Lionheart School

lionheardlogo.jpg

Thanks to an $1,800 gift from a Foundation donor, The Lionheart School was able to purchase a set of therapeutic swings for its students. The Lionheart School provides developmentally appropriate programs for children with autism and other relating and communicating disorders.

"By focusing on each child’s individual differences, and maintaining the highest possible staff-to-student ratio, the Lionheart School crafts a program suited to each student’s developmental profile. This results in a nurturing and supportive environment, directly addressing the child’s emotional, social and intellectual development." Learn more.
