Organizational Partnerships

The Community Foundation for Greater Atlanta is committed to building strong, collaborative nonprofits within the 23-county region. We hold a common inquiry with other funders and nonprofits to find the best practices to assess, negotiate, implement and evaluate partnership models between nonprofit organizations. The purpose of the Organizational Partnerships program is to provide funds and/or management consulting services to support nonprofits as they assess, negotiate, design and/or implement substantive organizational partnerships that seek to promote more effective operations and high-performing programs based on community needs and assets.

Funding for this project comes from The Community Foundation for Greater Atlanta’s Common Good Funds. In part, the Common Good Funds are designed to help nonprofit organizations meet the changing needs and resources that confront them.

In 2012 we will offer funding in three different stages of a partnership:

  • Partnership Assessment in which organizations assess their readiness and suitability as potential partners and examine the different types of partnership models
  • Readiness and Negotiation in which organizations will examine the pre-existing relationship, if any, between specific potential partners; this work delves deeply into the specifics of what is possible and helps organizations prepare for the final stages of designing and implementing their partnership vision
  •  Design and/or Implementation in which organizations finalize the details of their partnership (from timeline to steering committee to changes in staffing structures) and, if appropriate, receive funds to implement their partnership plan

Highlights

Building Stronger, Collaborative Nonprofits

partnerships_0.png

The Community Foundation is committed to building strong, collaborative nonprofits within our 23-county region.

Over the years, we have invested in multiple partnerships to tackle critical issues. Through JUST Georgia, nonprofit partners are ensuring social services for Georgia children are supportive and effective. Through The Girls Collaborative, partners are working together to create successful outcomes for girls.

These are just two examples of partnerships The Community Foundation has helped to established. We believe partnerships benefit nonprofits individually and the sector and community as a whole.
