Publicizing Your Grant

The Community Foundation publicizes its grants through media relations and stories in our publications and website. We encourage nonprofits to share with us success stories and photos of your organization so that we might help in promoting our work together to create a stronger, Greater Atlanta.

The Community Foundation can also help publicize your grant and your activities as follows:

  • Highlight interesting grant stories through the Foundation website, newsletters and annual report.
  • Include photos of your organization in donor engagement materials and other print and/or electronic communications. Additionally, we can share photos of your work via our Flickr photo account.
  • Provide acknowledgement language and Foundation logos for your use as needed.
  • Review any media releases or documents you create (not required).

For complete information, please review our Guidelines for Publicizing Your Grant.

When acknowledging your grant from The Community Foundation, please use the following language: Funding provided (or funded in part) by a grant from The Community Foundation for Greater Atlanta.

Logo use

We also encourage you to use our logo where suitable. We can provide black-and-white or color versions in digital format. Please let us know how you plan to use the logo so we can help you get the best results. You can also download our logo from the Press Room section of our website.

Press tools

Issuing a news release to the media is a good way to obtain publicity for your grant funding. Community and suburban newspapers in your service area, as well as The Atlanta Journal Constitution, the Atlanta Daily World, the Atlanta Business Chronicle and the trade press, may be interested in your story. Radio stations may be interested if someone can provide an on-air interview, while TV stations look for stories with visual appeal. Remember to tell the story of your organization through the people you help and the impact you have on the community. Media are looking for more information than the fact that you received a grant.

Following is our boilerplate for press releases:

The Community Foundation for Greater Atlanta connects donors, nonprofits and community leaders to strengthen the Atlanta region through philanthropy. The Community Foundation does this by providing quality services to donors and innovative leadership on community issues. Please visit the Foundation’s website at www.cfgreateratlanta.org for more information.

We welcome copies of publications or media coverage that mention your grant and will share this information with donors and Board members when appropriate.
