Reporting Requirements

The Foundation is interested in learning how our grantmaking assists nonprofit organizations effectively manage operations and programs based on community need. Helping to sustain vital organizations who are building vibrant communities is our common goal. Such evaluation helps organizations – and the Foundation – to assess operations and mission-related activities and their impact on strengthening our community.

The Foundation will work with each Common Good Funds grantee to co-design an evaluative process. We will ask all grantees to report on progress and challenges in either six or 12 month intervals. A small number of organizations will also receive post-grant site visits from Foundation staff and/or consultants for deeper conversation and learning.

Highlights

Our Philanthropic Framework

During 2008 The Community Foundation dedicated time to learn new ways we can strengthen the Atlanta region through philanthropy. We studied practices in the field, attended conferences, read research from experts and peers, and listened to our donors, nonprofits and community leaders. From this we have created Our Philanthropic Framework.

This is not a reinvention of The Community Foundation - it is simply our intent to clearly define how we do our work and how we'll know if we're making a difference.
