Community foundations in 2010 held assets of more than $50 billion, made grants of $4.1 billion and received $4.5 billion in gifts. We experienced an average growth rate of 13 percent; however 52 percent of foundations surveyed are not yet back to 2007 historical highs.

The Community Foundation manages various scholarship funds that allow our donors an opportunity to invest in the future and help deserving students pursue higher education. The deadlines to apply for scholarships vary per program from May 15 to May 2.

The Morgan Fund and Newton Fund, local funds of The Community Foundation, will celebrate 2011 grant recipients, as well as distinguished community volunteers, at community events in February.  

January 14, 2011: Neighborhood Fund awards $19,000 during final 2010 grant cycle

Last month, the Neighborhood Fund awarded $19,000 to four community organizations during its last grant cycle of 2010. Through grants and support, the Neighborhood Fund empowers community members to positively impact neighborhoods at the local level.
