August 8 Nonprofit Loan Fund Orientation: August 2, 2012

There will be an orientation session on Wednesday, August 8 for nonprofits interested applying for loans through the Nonprofit Loan Fund. See details below.

The Community Foundation conducted a feasibility study in 2009 to determine the needs within the nonprofit sector. Through this study we discovered:
  • 50% of nonprofit organizations had a budget shortfall
  • 82% of these were due to timing (money was supposed to come in but didn’t)
  • 70% of nonprofit organizations indicated they may borrow if loans were available
  • 65% of nonprofit organizations do not have a vibrant, stable banking relationship

Foundation measures metro Atlanta's philanthropy

At The Community Foundation, we are committed to promoting and supporting philanthropy in the metro Atlanta region.

In 2010 we commissioned an in-depth study to track the investment and engagement of residents in our 23-county region in four key areas: Community Involvement, Philanthropic Giving, Volunteerism, and Public Policy Involvement.

It is our intent to conduct this study every three years to see changes in how Atlantans are connected and engaged around in the four key areas.
