The Morgan Fund will host a special reception on February 17 at the Madison-Morgan Cultural Center to recognize its 2011 nonprofit grantees. In addition, the Morgan Fund will honor one local volunteer with the Morgan Fund Community Service Award. In this, its inaugural year, the award is presented to a special individual who has made a measurable difference in Morgan County through his or her volunteerism. In addition to the recognition, the award recipient will receive a cash award of $2,000 that can be designated to a nonprofit (s) of his/her choice.

The Newton Fund will host a special evening on February 23 at The Center to award its Pat Patrick Big Heart Award to an individual selected as the community’s most distinguished volunteer. The award is named in honor of the founding chair of the Newton Fund, Pat Patrick, who gave unselfish and untiring service in support of local nonprofits, and presents the winner with a $2,000 grant to be designated to a nonprofit of choice. In addition, the Newton Fund will award its 2011 competitive grants to several high-impact, effective local nonprofits.

Various local nonprofit, government and community leaders are expected to attend these invitation-only events. For more information, contact Jasper Tanner, program officer, at jtanner@cfgreateratlanta.org or 404-526-1103.
