Remembering Phillip Rush: April 29, 2009

For more than 15 years, Phillip worked as a program officer with The Community Foundation where his enthusiasm for community building, urban development, environmentalism and LGBTQ issues helped engage and energize our donors as well as strengthen and support local nonprofits.

His zest for life was only matched by his inquisitive nature about people and places and how they connect. He will be greatly missed by many in the Atlanta community, and we were fortunate to know and work with him.

Gifts in Phillip's honor may be sent to YouthPride at 1017 Edgewood Avenue, Atlanta, GA 30307.

Highlights

Our Philanthropic Framework

During 2008 The Community Foundation dedicated time to learn new ways we can strengthen the Atlanta region through philanthropy. We studied practices in the field, attended conferences, read research from experts and peers, and listened to our donors, nonprofits and community leaders. From this we have created Our Philanthropic Framework.

This is not a reinvention of The Community Foundation - it is simply our intent to clearly define how we do our work and how we'll know if we're making a difference.
