February 20
New Donor Breakfast
Time: 8:30-10:00am
Location: The Community Foundation for Greater Atlanta

This event is designed to welcome individuals and families who established funds at The Community Foundation in 2012. This breakfast will provide an opportunity for fund advisors to meet key staff at The Community Foundation and connect with their personal philanthropic advisor. We will discuss the various services available to donors and their families and answer questions from donors.

Please note: This event will not take the place of the orientation meeting that you have had, or will have, with your philanthropic advisor.

March 12

Veterans: Community Needs and Funding Opportunities
Time: 8:30-11:30am
Location: TBD
Confirmed Speakers: The Philanthropy Roundtable; the Shepherd Center

Today there is a growing need for services and support for veterans. This event, hosted by the Kendeda Fund, will afford donors the opportunity to learn about a recent report on veterans and the nonprofits serving them nationwide; hear about housing programs to help veterans transition into self sufficiency; and local efforts to help veterans dealing with traumatic brain injury. This presentation will be a chance to learn about what’s happening with veterans in our communities, where help is most needed in Atlanta and discuss next action steps for donors.

Highlights

Building Our Communities through Philanthropy

While many in the region know The Community Foundation for our grantmaking programs, we play a wide variety of roles in creating philanthropic solutions to our communities’ most pressing problems. These roles are as varied as the challenges our Atlanta region faces, but they each start with the premise that communities are built, improved and strengthened by the passion, ideas and resources of its people.
