Philanthropic Advisor Leadership Institute (PALI)

The Philanthropic Advisor Leadership Institute (PALI) represents a collaboration between the Community Foundation for Greater Atlanta, the Jewish Federation of Greater Atlanta and United Way of Greater Atlanta. These organizations have come together to provide financial, legal and accounting professionals with educational opportunities about how to better incorporate charitable planning into their professional practices.

PALI creates greater understanding of the values that motivate philanthropic clients. It also helps to hone participants’ estate and income tax planning skills, particularly as they relate to charitable planning. And the institute forges strong and enduring professional ties between participants.

PALI is a highly regarded leadership development and networking program, with an alumni roster of more than 120 professionals in the greater Atlanta community. Alumni continue to learn about our nonprofit community, discuss values based and charitable planning issues and network together.

Applications for the 2016-2017 PALI program are now closed, check back for details on applying for next year’s class in the spring of 2017.

Balser Professional Advisors Council

Balser Professional Advisor Council is an exclusive network of professional advisors who have demonstrated an interest in philanthropy—both personally and professionally. Members are part of a network of advisors dedicated to integrating philanthropy into their work, increasing philanthropy in their fields and increasing philanthropic impact throughout the community.

As experts in the Greater Atlanta region’s philanthropy, the Community Foundation for Greater Atlanta, The Jewish Federation of Greater Atlanta, and United Way of Greater Atlanta are uniquely positioned to bring together the city’s elite professional advisors and provide opportunities—throughout the year—for education, knowledge sharing and networking. Programming includes the Balser Symposium and Philanthropic Advisor Leadership Institute.

Balser Symposium

The Balser Symposium is a continuing education opportunity sponsored by the Jewish Federation of Greater Atlanta, United Way of Greater Atlanta and the Community Foundation for Greater Atlanta as a part of the Balser Professional Advisors Council. This annual symposium occurs in January or February of each year to build philanthropic culture in our region by engaging prominent local and national speakers, and by focusing on sophisticated strategies for integrating charitable and estate planning.

Firm Presentations and Public Speaking

The Community Foundation’s professional staff is available to speak to professional and civic groups on topics related to philanthropy, charitable planning and community development. In addition, the Community Foundation conducts many “lunch and learn” presentations for local professional firms on a variety of charitable planning and family philanthropy topics. Need a speaker?
