Arts, Culture and Creative Enterprises
Giving artists a voice throughout Atlanta.
The Arts, Culture and Creative Enterprises TogetherATL Fund supports arts organizations, artists and small creative businesses in the region that are focused on addressing historic inequities for Black, Indigenous and People of Color (BIPOC).
According to the Georgia Council for the Arts, creative industries in Georgia represent a combined $37 billion in revenue, including 200,000 employees with $12.1 billion in earnings and $62.5 billion in total economic impact. In the State of Georgia, creative industries represent five percent of all employment and four percent of all business revenue. And in Atlanta, arts have become a significant economic driver and civic catalyst, building communities and nurturing a shared sense of opportunity, expression and belonging.
In addition, the Community Foundation has worked to rectify its own historical disparity. Over the past 26 years, almost 90% of funding was allocated to white-led organizations. Now, the Foundation is committed to a more equitable funding position. In the near future, we intend to work with self-identified Black individual artists and cultural organizations to launch a new funding source. We envision directly supporting the artistic craft of local Black artists in the metro Atlanta arts and culture community, in order to amplify the voice of Black artists and strengthen the regional arts economy.
Support will include grants, technical assistance and building support to smaller grassroots organizations, prioritizing Black-led and BIPOC arts organizations.
A Place to Perform
A Place to Perform provides grants to nonprofit literary and performing arts organizations to gain access to performance venues and facilities, so they, in turn, can produce performing arts experiences for the public. Please check back for 2024 cycle timing.
Metropolitan Atlanta Arts
The Metropolitan Atlanta Arts grant was created in 1993 to provide resources to strengthen independent arts organizations with annual operating budgets under $2 million. These organizations are located throughout the Atlanta area and are served by the Foundation. This fund provides general operating support for programming and operations to increase public engagement with various forms of art across the region. Please check back for the 2024 cycle timing.
