At the Community Foundation, we believe that one of the best ways to improve our community is by strengthening and supporting nonprofits doing smart, innovative work in our region. That support occurs through multiple programs—including our General Operating Support competitive grantmaking cycle—as well as partnerships focused on specific areas of interest and need.

Organizational Profile and Common Grant Application Portal

The Community Foundation for Greater Atlanta has developed a robust online Organizational Profile and Common Grant Application that will capture information about nonprofits and their needs in one place. Creating a profile is the first step in a nonprofit’s journey with the Community Foundation, and the information provided will drive reports for our donors and initiate informational meetings. Completing the Common Grant Application automatically means your organization is considered for many of our competitive grant program applications. We encourage all organizations – whether nonprofits or community-based groups – including those that have traditionally not been eligible for our grant programs, to complete both their Organizational Profiles and the Common Grant Application.

How It Works

The Community Foundation offers a number of competitive grant programs to nonprofits across the 23-county Atlanta metro region. Since eligibility requirements vary, organizations are encouraged to review the guidelines for each program to determine whether or not they are eligible to apply for a grant from that program.

    Step 1

    The first step in your nonprofit’s journey with the Foundation is to complete your Organizational Profile through our convenient online portal. You’ll be able to save the information and update it any time you have new leadership, new programs or other news you’d like to share.

    Step 2

    Complete your Common Grant application. This automatically means your organization is considered for many of our competitive grant programs. However, if you are interested in specific funding, you should identify which competitive grantmaking programs your organization is eligible to apply to by viewing the individual program pages.

    Step 3

    Follow the program-specific directions found on each program page. This may include submitting additional documentation or completing additional application documents.
